Chapter 414 Budget Referendum

This year, the Walworth-Seely Public Library is asking taxpayers to establish a Chapter 414 Referendum to approve our budget.

But what does that mean? Check out the information below.

Public Information Sessions will be held at the library on

Monday, October 16th at 11:00 am & Thursday, October 26th at 6:00 pm.

What is a 414 Budget Referendum?

“History has shown that when citizens have the right to directly vote on how much to tax themselves for public library service, funding for public libraries stabilizes and becomes sustainable, allowing a library to more adequately respond to community needs.”
